General Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into EBSU postgraduate programmes, candidates must satisfy both general university standards and specific departmental requirements:

• O’Level Qualifications: A minimum of five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.

• NYSC Certificate: A valid NYSC Discharge Certificate, Certificate of Exemption, or official Letter of Exclusion is mandatory for all Nigerian applicants.

• Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): A Bachelor’s degree with at least a Third Class division from EBSU or any recognized university, or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in a relevant field.

• Master’s Degree (M.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., LL.M.): A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2) from Ebonyi State University or any Senate-recognized institution. Alternatively, candidates with a Third Class degree or HND must hold an accredited PGD in the relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 5.0 scale.

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.): A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.50 on a 5.0 scale (or a weighted average score of 60% and above).
