Important Admission Secrets for 2026/2027

To secure admission into MAPOLY, you need to understand the strategy:

1. The Cut-Off Mark Reality

  • Official Mark: The polytechnic generally accepts a JAMB score of 100 – 120.

  • The Trap: Do not be deceived by the “100” mark. For Mass Communication, SLT, or Pharmaceutical Tech, the competition is incredibly high. You typically need a score of 150+ (sometimes higher) to be safe for the Merit list in these departments.

2. The “Part-Time” Route

  • No JAMB? If you missed the JAMB cut-off or didn’t write JAMB at all, MAPOLY runs a very robust Part-Time (Daily or Weekend) programme.

  • Same Certificate: The National Diploma certificate you get from Part-Time is the same as Full-Time. Many students use this route to bypass the strict JAMB requirements.

3. O-Level Requirements

  • Maths & English: You MUST have Credits in Mathematics and English Language for all courses (even Arts-related ones like Mass Comm).

  • Two Sittings: MAPOLY accepts two sittings (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB combination).
