Official List of Courses Offered in Osun State University (UNIOSUN) for 2026/2027

Official List of Courses Offered in Osun State University (UNIOSUN): If you have chosen Osun State University (UNIOSUN), you are targeting one of the fastest-growing and most stable state universities in Nigeria.

However, applying to UNIOSUN is different from applying to other schools like OAU or UNILAG because of its unique Multi-Campus System. The university is not located in one town; it is scattered across six different towns in Osun State.

NOTE: Before you browse the list, you must understand the “Campus Logic” to avoid renting a hostel in the wrong city!

  1. The “Medical” Boom: UNIOSUN now has a fully accredited College of Medicine. They offer Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, and Medical Laboratory Science.

  2. No Pharmacy Yet: Do not confuse “Pharmacology” (which UNIOSUN offers) with “Pharmacy” (B.Pharm). As of the 2026/2027 session, UNIOSUN does NOT offer a professional Pharmacy degree to become a pharmacist.

Important Admission Secrets for 2026/2027

To secure admission into UNIOSUN, you need to navigate their specific “rules”:

1. The “Osun First” Policy

  • UNIOSUN is owned by the Osun State Government.

  • Osun Indigenes: You get a massive advantage. The admission quota favors indigenes significantly.

  • Non-Indigenes: You are welcome, but you must aim for the Merit List. If the cut-off for Medicine is 70% for an Osun indigene, it might be 75% for a non-indigene.

2. The “No Awaiting Result” Preference

  • UNIOSUN is very fast with its calendar. They often prioritize candidates who already have their O’Level results (WAEC/NECO) ready during the screening registration. Using “Awaiting Result” can be risky if your result is not released before the admission list is compiled.

3. The Cut-Off Mark Reality

  • General Cut-Off: UNIOSUN typically sets a university minimum of 160.

  • Real Targets:

    • Medicine/Nursing/Law: 230 – 250+ is the safety zone.

    • Cyber Security/Software Engineering: 200+.

    • Accounting/Pol Science: 180+.

    • Agriculture/Education: 160 is usually sufficient.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is UNIOSUN a Private University? No. It is a State Government University. However, because of its strict discipline, stable calendar (no strikes), and slightly higher school fees compared to federal schools, many people mistake it for a private university.

Does UNIOSUN offer Pharmacy? No. As of the 2026/2027 session, they offer Pharmacology, not Pharmacy. If you want to be a Pharmacist, do not choose UNIOSUN.

Is the campus safe? Yes, all six campuses are generally safe. The Osogbo (Main) campus is gated and secure. The other campuses (Ikire, Okuku, etc.) are integrated into their host communities, which are peaceful towns.
