Important Admission Requirements for 2026/2027

FUTA is famous for its strict admission policy. Here is what you need to know before applying:

1. The “Cut-Off” Reality

  • General Cut-Off: FUTA usually sets a minimum cut-off of 180.

  • Competitive Courses: For Medicine, Nursing, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering, a score of 180 is not enough. You should aim for 250 – 300+ to be safe.

  • Post-UTME is Mandatory: FUTA conducts a physical or computer-based Post-UTME screening. Your final score is an aggregate of your JAMB score and Post-UTME score.

2. O-Level Requirements

  • Compulsory: Credit in English Language and Mathematics is non-negotiable for all courses.

  • Physics & Chemistry: Because FUTA is a technology school, Physics and Chemistry are compulsory for 98% of courses (including Architecture and Agriculture).

  • Exception: Some courses in Urban Planning or Agricultural Economics may accept Geography or Economics in place of Physics, but don’t risk it without checking the brochure.

3. Direct Entry (DE)

  • FUTA accepts Upper Credit in National Diploma (ND) for admission into 200 Level. Lower Credit is rarely accepted.

  • A-Level candidates (JUPEB/IJMB) need a minimum of 13 points for competitive courses and 6-8 points for others.
