UNIPORT Postgraduate Admission Requirements
To obtain the application form for the UNIPORT School of Postgraduate Studies, candidates must meet specific requirements as outlined below:
1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
– Candidates must have passed English and Mathematics at the O-Level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) to fulfill matriculation requirements.
– Graduates must have obtained at least a third-class honors degree from the University of Port Harcourt or any other recognized university.
– Individuals holding a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of a Lower Credit grade from recognized institutions are also eligible.
– Holders of any other qualifications, along with relevant field experience deemed acceptable by the University, may apply.
2. Master’s Degree
– Candidates are required to have credits in English Language and Mathematics at the O-Level (e.g., WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
– UNIPORT graduates must possess an approved first degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division).
– A degree with a CGPA of 3.00 or above is acceptable, or a CGPA between 2.40 and 2.99 with at least three years of post-graduation experience.
– Candidates who obtained a Third Class honors degree and have at least five years of post-graduation experience are also eligible.
– Applicants must hold a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Port Harcourt or any recognized institution with at least a pass at the credit level.
– Candidates whose degrees are unclassified but have an average grade of C or above can apply.
– A Higher National Diploma (minimum credit) from recognized institutions, along with a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum pass at credit level) from the University of Port Harcourt in relevant areas, is also acceptable.
3. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Master’s by Research Degrees
– Graduates must have obtained an approved first degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the University of Port Harcourt or any other recognized institution.
– A Second Class Honours degree with substantial relevant industrial experience is required.
4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
– Graduates must hold a Master’s Degree relevant to their proposed areas of study from the University of Port Harcourt.
– Graduates from other recognized universities must possess a Master’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
– Candidates applying for Ph.D. programs may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/or may undergo a probationary period not exceeding 12 calendar months.
How to Apply for UNIPORT Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026
The application fee is Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000.00). This fee should be paid online at either First Bank or Sterling Bank.
Every candidate must make a payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000.00) for the prospectus into U&C Microfinance Bank Ltd, Choba. The account number for this payment is 1528000068.
After completing the payment, candidates should visit the uniportsgs website to download the Application Form.
Please note that paying for the application form does not guarantee admission, and the application fee is non-refundable.
