UNN Post UTME Form for 2026/2027 | See Eligibility
UNN Post UTME Form for 2026/2027: The Post-UTME is an internal screening exercise that determines who gets admitted into UNN. It is the final stage after your JAMB exam.
Why is it important? UNN is highly competitive. Your JAMB score alone does not guarantee admission. The screening score is combined with your JAMB result to create an “Aggregate Score,” which determines if you meet the cut-off for your specific department.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 2026/2027 screening, you must meet these criteria:
-
Choice of Institution: You must have chosen UNN as your First Choice.
-
Minimum JAMB Score: The general institutional cut-off is typically 160. However, competitive courses like Medicine, Law, and Nursing usually require 200–250+ to be realistic candidates.
-
Age Limit: You must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026.
-
O-Level Requirements: At least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects (including English and a Science subject) in no more than two sittings.
-
Direct Entry (DE): Must have a minimum of Merit in NCE, Lower Credit in ND, or relevant A-Level passes (IJMB/JUPEB).
Screening Format: CBT vs. Online
In the past, UNN conducted physical Computer-Based Tests (CBT) on campus. However, in recent sessions, the university has often utilized Online Screening (Document Verification), where candidates are scored based on their JAMB and O’Level results
Expert Note: Always check your registration slip after applying. If the university schedules a physical CBT for 2026, the date, time, and venue (Nsukka or Enugu campus) will be printed clearly on your slip.

Advice: Ensure your O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB CAPS portal immediately, as UNN cannot offer admission to anyone with “Awaiting Result” on CAPS.
How the Aggregate Score is Calculated
UNN typically uses a 60:40 ratio:
-
JAMB Score: 60%
-
Post-UTME/Screening Score: 40%
Bonus Points: UNN often rewards candidates who use one sitting for their O-Level results with extra points in the aggregate calculation.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
-
Wrong JAMB Subject Combination: If you wrote the wrong subjects for your course in JAMB, UNN will likely disqualify you during screening.
-
Blurry Document Uploads: If the admission officer cannot read your O-Level grades on the uploaded scan, your application may be rejected.
-
Names Discrepancy: Ensure the name on your O-Level result matches your JAMB profile exactly. If there is a major difference, you may need an Affidavit of Correction of Name.
Admission Tips for Success
-
The “First Choice” Rule: UNN strictly admits only first-choice candidates. If you didn’t choose them first, apply for a JAMB Change of Institution immediately.
-
Target High JAMB Scores: Because JAMB carries 60% of the weight, a high score there makes the Post-UTME stage much easier.
-
Catchment Area: If you are from the South-East (Enugu, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi), you may benefit from the “Catchment Area” cut-off, which is often slightly lower than the “Merit” cut-off.
