UNILAG Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026: The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is pleased to announce the acceptance of applications for the 2025/2026 postgraduate studies! We call on all interested academics to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to further their studies at one of Nigeria’s premier institutions. The School of Postgraduate Studies at UNILAG is receiving applications for its 2025/2026 postgraduate programs.

The programs on offer are:

• Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
• Master’s Degrees (e.g., LL.M, M.A., M.Sc.)
• Professional Master’s Degrees (e.g., EMBA, MBA)
• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)
•  Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

Flexible study modes are offered, including full-time, part-time, Executive, and Open Distance Learning (ODL). The application form is now available online on the UNILAG postgraduate portal. UNILAG Postgraduate Admission Requirement

To obtain the application form for the UNILAG School of Postgraduate Studies, candidates must meet specific requirements, outlined as follows:

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
– Candidates must have passed English and Mathematics at the O’ level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) to meet the matriculation requirements.
– Graduates with at least a third-class honors degree from the University of Lagos or any other recognized university are eligible.
– Individuals holding a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit grade from recognized institutions are also eligible.
– Holders of other qualifications, along with relevant field experience deemed acceptable by the University, may apply.

2. Master’s Degree
– Candidates must have credit passes in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level (e.g., WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
– UNILAG graduates with an approved first degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) are eligible.
– Graduates with a CGPA of 3.00 or higher, or a CGPA between 2.40 and 2.99 with at least three years of post-graduation experience, can apply.
– Candidates with a Third Class honors degree and at least five years of post-graduation experience are eligible.
– Applicants must possess a Postgraduate Diploma from UNILAG or any recognized institution with at least a pass at the credit level.
– Candidates whose degrees are unclassified but have an average grade of C or above are eligible to apply.
– Candidates need a Higher National Diploma (minimum credit) from recognized institutions and a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum pass at credit level) from UNILAG in relevant areas.

3. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Master’s by Research Degrees
– Graduates must have an approved first degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the University of Lagos or other recognized institutions.
– A Second Class Honours degree with substantial relevant industrial experience is required.

4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
– Graduates must hold a Master’s Degree that is relevant to the proposed areas of study at the University of Lagos.
– Graduates from recognized universities with a master’s degree and a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale are eligible.
– Candidates for the Ph.D. programs may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/or complete a probationary period not exceeding 12 calendar months.

How to Apply for UNILAG Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026

University of Lagos School of Postgraduate Studies Application Process (2025/2026)

1. Go to the University of Lagos School of Postgraduate Studies website at http://spgs.unilag.edu.ng. Click on the “2025/2026 Applications” link.
2. Verify your eligibility for the course of interest and your availability.
3. Click the “Application Form” link and select the Postgraduate option from the Application Type menu.
4. Complete the Pre-Application Form for the issuance of a Payment Reference Number. Please print the advice of payment.
5. Proceed to pay N30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand Naira Only) non-refundable application charge and fee. Any of the following payment modes can be employed:
a. Remita Payment: Payment can be made through any bank in Nigeria using the RRR on the advice of payment.
b. Online Payment: Click on the PayNow link to pay directly with your bank debit card on the portal.
6. After payment, go back to the School of Postgraduate Studies portal at http://spgs.unilag.edu.ng. Click the “2025/2026 Application” link, then click on the “Continue Application” link. Log in with your Payment Reference Number and use your surname in lowercase as your password.
7. Complete the application form and include a digital passport photo in JPEG format. The picture must not exceed 15KB and must be on a white background. The ideal resolution is a width of 275 pixels (or 35mm) and a height of 314 pixels (or 40mm). Failure to comply with these requirements may result in disqualification.
8. Double-check all the information before you click the “SUBMIT FORM” button. In the event of any mistakes, click the DECLINE button and rectify them. Note that changing submitted forms will be N1,000, so fill the form to completely before you submit it.

Applicants’ Important Notes:
– Applicants should thoroughly read the requirements for the programs that they want to ensure eligibility.
– Those yet to finish National Youth Service Corps assignments, waiting for results for Bachelor’s degrees, those already pursuing postgraduate programs, or non-Nigerian citizens are not eligible for application.
– Individuals holding degrees from Outreach/Satellite campuses are not qualified.
– All applicants should upload the necessary credentials as well as the application form, including:
a. Degree Certificates (except Statement of Results)
b. NYSC Certificates
c. Professional Certificates
– Academic transcripts must be accompanied by a post or email to the Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies at adminsecspgs@unilag.edu.ng before the start of the registration/screening exercise.
– M.Phil./Ph.D. candidates must contact the respective departments to ascertain supervisor availability before applying.
– ONLINE Qualifying Examinations dates and other details will be updated from time to time on the University of Lagos School of Postgraduate Studies website at http://spgs.unilag.edu.ng.
– Qualifying/Entrance Examinations are taking place in the week of [insert dates here].
