UNIABUJA Postgraduate Admission Requirement

To obtain the application form for the School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), candidates must meet specific requirements. Below are the criteria for each program:

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
– Candidates must have passed English and Mathematics at the O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) to meet matriculation requirements.
– Graduates who have obtained at least a Third Class Honours degree from the University of Abuja or any other recognized university are eligible to apply.
– Individuals with a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit grade from recognized institutions qualify.
– Holders of other relevant qualifications, along with acceptable field experience as determined by the University, may also apply.

2. Master’s Degree
– Candidates must have credits in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ Level (e.g., WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
– Graduates of UNIABUJA with an approved first degree and a minimum of a Second Class Honours degree (Lower Division) are eligible.
– A degree with a CGPA of 3.00 or higher, or a CGPA between 2.40 and 2.99 with at least 3 years of post-graduation experience, is acceptable.
– Candidates who hold a Third Class Honours degree and have at least five years of post-graduation experience are also eligible to apply.
– Applicants must possess a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Abuja or any recognized institution, with at least a pass at the credit level.
– Candidates with unclassified degrees but an average grade of C or above are eligible to apply.
– A Higher National Diploma (minimum credit) from recognized institutions, along with a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum pass at the credit level) from the University of Abuja in relevant areas, is required.

3. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Master’s by Research Degrees
– Graduates must hold an approved first degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the University of Abuja or other recognized institutions.
– A Second Class Honours degree accompanied by significant relevant industrial experience is also required.

4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
– Candidates must possess a Master’s degree relevant to the proposed area of study from the University of Abuja.
– Graduates from other recognized universities must hold a Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
– Candidates for Ph.D. programs may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/or undergo a probationary period not exceeding 12 calendar months.
