UI Cut Off Mark 2026/2027

If you are aiming for the “First and Best”—the University of Ibadan—for the 2026/2027 academic session, you must understand that you are competing for a spot in Nigeria’s most prestigious academic institution. Admission into UI is not for the faint-hearted; it is strictly based on merit. We are here to provide you with the official admission stats for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year. Prospective students are encouraged to take a moment to understand the difference between being eligible and being admittable.

UI JAMB Cut Off Mark for all Courses

The school management has made a public notice that the official and accepted UI JAMB cut-off mark for the 2026/2027 academic session is 200.

Important Reality Check: UI maintains a very high standard. Unlike many other universities, UI strictly enforces the 200 benchmark.

  • The Rule: If you score 199 in JAMB, you are automatically disqualified. There is no “upgrading” or “begging.”

  • First Choice Only: UI does NOT accept candidates who chose them as a Second Choice.1 You must make them your First Choice to be invited for the Post-UTME.

This implies that all 2026 JAMB candidates who scored 200 and above and chose the University of Ibadan as their First Choice are eligible to register for the Post UTME screening.

The UI Aggregate Formula (The 50/50 Rule)

UI uses a balanced Aggregate Formula to determine admission. Your JAMB score alone does not determine your fate; your Post-UTME performance is equally important.

The Formula:

Your total score is calculated over 100%:

  1. JAMB Score (50%): Divide your JAMB score by 8. (e.g., 280 / 8 = 35 points)

  2. Post-UTME Score (50%): Divide your Post-UTME score by 2. (e.g., 70 / 2 = 35 points)

  3. Total Aggregate: Add the two results together. (35 + 35 = 70%)

This final aggregate is what determines if you get the course.

UI Departmental Cut-off Mark

UI releases specific departmental cut-off marks (Aggregate Scores) after the screening exams. Below are the estimated aggregate targets you should aim for to be on the safe side for admission on Merit.

College of Medicine

This is the toughest college to enter. A JAMB score of 200 is eligible, but you practically need 280+ to get the required aggregate.

Important Admission Tips for 2026/2027

To secure your admission into the University of Ibadan, keep these critical points in mind:

  1. The “One Sitting” Rule: For Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Law, UI typically accepts only ONE sitting of O-Level results. Do not combine WAEC and NECO for these courses. For other courses, two sittings are allowed.

  2. Age Limit: You must be at least 16 years old by the time of admission. UI is strict about this.

  3. Subject Combination: Wrong JAMB subject combinations lead to automatic disqualification. For example, if you apply for Pharmacy without Physics, you will not be admitted, regardless of your score.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions concerning the JAMB cut-off mark and UI Departmental cut-off marks, as our support team is always on standby to attend to you.
