 Admission Requirements

Admission into the NDA is not like UNILAG or ABU. It is a dual process: Academic and Military. You must pass both.

1. Academic Requirements

  • JAMB Score:

    • Engineering Courses: Minimum of 210.

    • Arts/Social Sciences/Science: Minimum of 180.

  • First Choice: You MUST choose NDA as your First Choice in JAMB.

  • O-Level: You need 5 Credit passes (including English and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings.

    • Note: The Faculty of Engineering requires Chemistry and Physics.

2. Physical Requirements (No Compromise)

  • Height:

    • Male: Minimum of 1.68m.

    • Female: Minimum of 1.65m.

  • Age: You must be between 17 and 21 years old by September 2026. (If you are 22, you are disqualified.

  • Marital Status: You must be Single (not married, no children).

3. The Selection Process

  1. JAMB UTME: You must beat the cut-off.

  2. NDA Screening Test: A written exam usually held in May/June.

  3. Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB): The final stage. This is a grueling 2-week interview at the NDA Permanent Site in Kaduna involving physical drills, medical tests, and endurance obstacles.

Can I carry over courses in NDA? No. This is a military academy. If you fail your exams (academic) or fail your physicals (military), you are usually withdrawn (expelled). There is very little room for failure.
