Important Admission Secrets for 2026/2027
Admission into FUTO is strict. To ensure your name makes the merit list, keep these three rules in mind:
1. The “Physics & Chemistry” Rule. Because FUTO is a specialized University of Technology, almost every course requires Physics and Chemistry in your O’Level and JAMB.
-
Don’t try it: Do not apply for Computer Science or Architecture without Physics.
-
Biological Sciences: Even for Biology-related courses, a credit in Physics is often mandatory.
2. Cut-Off Mark Reality: While the general cut-off might be 150 or 160, that score will not get you into top-tier courses.
-
Medicine (MBBS): Target 250+
-
Petroleum/Computer/Electrical Engineering: Target 220+
-
SLT/Public Health: Target 200+
-
Agriculture/Education/Physics: 160+ is usually safe.
3. Direct Entry (DE) FUTO accepts Upper Credit in ND/HND. Lower Credit is rarely accepted for competitive engineering courses. JUPEB candidates need significantly high points (10-13 points) for Medicine or Engineering.
