Important Admission Secrets for 2026/2027

1. The “150” vs. “250” Rule. While AE-FUNAI often advertises a general cut-off mark of 150, this is deceptive for top courses.

• Tier 1 (220 – 250+): Medicine, Law, Nursing. If you score 180 and apply for Medicine, you will not get it.

• Tier 2 (180 – 200+): Medical Lab, Computer Science, Mass Comm, Criminology.

• Tier 3 (150 – 160): Agriculture, Education, and most Arts courses.

2. The Strict “O’Level” Policy

• AE-FUNAI is very particular about English and Mathematics. You must have Credits in both for almost every course.

• Two Sittings: They generally accept two sittings (WAEC/NECO), but for Medicine and Law, one sitting is highly preferred and gives you a massive advantage during screening.

3. Direct Entry (DE)

• AE-FUNAI accepts JUPEB (they have a strong JUPEB programme) and IJMB.

• National Diploma (ND): They accept ND with Upper Credit. Lower Credit is rarely considered for competitive departments.
