Official List of Courses Offered in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) for 2026/2027

Official List of Courses Offered in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU): Are you planning to write the 2026 JAMB UTME with your sights set on the “Pearl of Tourism” state? If you are looking to study at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, you are making a solid choice. As a specialized Federal University of Technology, ATBU is a heavyweight in science, engineering, and technology-based courses in Northern Nigeria.

However, because it is a “University of Technology,” you won’t find every course here (eg, Mass Communication or Law aspirants). To save you the stress of buying the wrong JAMB combination or applying for a course that doesn’t exist, I have compiled the official and updated list of accredited courses offered at ATBU for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Why Choose ATBU?

Before we dive into the list, it’s worth noting that ATBU is renowned for its practical approach to learning. Whether you are in the School of Engineering or Environmental Technology, the curriculum is designed to prepare you for industry readiness. Plus, as a Federal University, the school fees are significantly more affordable compared to state or private institutions.

Important Admission Requirements for 2026/2027

Knowing the courses is just step one. To secure admission into any of the departments listed above, you must meet these general requirements:

  1. O-Level Credits: You need at least 5 credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB. This must include English Language and Mathematics.

    • Tip: For Engineering and Science courses, you also need credits in Physics and Chemistry.

  2. JAMB Cut-Off Mark: While the general federal cut-off is often 140 or 150, competitive courses at ATBU (like Medicine, Architecture, and Civil Engineering) usually require scores above 200-220 to stand a good chance.

  3. Correct Subject Combination: This is where many students fail. You cannot study Engineering without Mathematics and Physics in JAMB. Always verify your subject combo.

A Note on “Remedial” and “Pre-Degree”

If you wrote JAMB but didn’t quite hit the target score, or your O’Level results are deficient, ATBU runs a robust Remedial Programme. Completing this programme gives you a second chance to gain admission into the 100 Level for the following session.
