Official LASU Ojo Admission Guide 2026/2027

Official LASU Cut-Off Marks for 2026/2027: This article provides you with everything you need to know about the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, for the 2026/2027 academic session. Whether you are aiming for the College of Medicine in Ikeja or the Main Campus in Ojo, this guide covers the strict 195 cut-off mark, the unique “Stream 1 vs. Stream 2” admission policy, and the rigorous LACACA clearance process.

LASU Cut Off Mark 2026/2027

If you are aiming for LASU for the 2026/2027 academic session, you are choosing one of the most competitive state universities in Nigeria. LASU is not for the “average” student; their standards are high, and they are very strict with their admission policies. Unlike many schools that accept 140, LASU maintains a high entry barrier. Below are the admission stats for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year.

LASU JAMB Cut Off Mark for All Courses

The school management has historically set the LASU JAMB cut-off mark for the 2026/2027 academic session at 195.

Important Reality Check:

  • The 195 Benchmark: This is a strict rule. If you score 194, you are NOT eligible to apply for the Post-UTME screening. You cannot buy the form.

  • The “Merit” Benchmark: For highly competitive courses like Medicine, Law, Nursing, and Computer Science, a score of 195 is merely a “gate pass.” To be safe on the merit list, you generally need a score of 250 to 280+.

  • First Choice Policy: LASU requires you to choose them as your First Choice in JAMB. If they are your Second Choice, you will not be able to register for the screening.

LASU Departmental Cut-off Mark Targets

LASU uses a Point Grading System for admission.

  • The Formula: (JAMB Score ÷ 8) + (O’Level Points) = Aggregate Score %

  • O’Level Points: A1 = 10 marks, B2 = 9 marks, B3 = 8 marks, C4 = 7 marks, C5 = 6 marks, C6 = 5 marks. (Calculated for 5 relevant subjects).

Below are the Safe JAMB Scores you should aim for to ensure your aggregate is high enough for the merit list.

Stream 1 vs. Stream 2 (Regular vs. Entrepreneurship)

This is the most critical part of the LASU admission that confuses many students. LASU has two streams of admission:

  1. Stream 1 (Regular): This is the standard merit list. The school fees are standard (~₦90,000). The cut-off marks are very high.

  2. Stream 2 (Entrepreneurship): This is for candidates who scored 195+ but missed the high departmental cut-off for Stream 1. You are admitted into the same course (e.g., Accounting) but with a mandatory “Entrepreneurship” certificate program attached.

    • The Catch: The school fees for Stream 2 are significantly higher (usually ₦150,000 – ₦180,000+).

    • Advice: If you have a lower JAMB score (e.g., 200) and want a competitive course, be prepared to accept Stream 2 and pay the higher fees.

LASU School Fees 2026/2027

Estimated Fee Schedule for Freshers (100 Level):

  • Stream 1 (Regular): ~₦90,000

  • Stream 2 (Regular + Entrepreneurship): ~₦180,000

  • Medical Students: Fees are generally higher.

  • Acceptance Fee: ~₦30,000 (Non-refundable).

Does LASU Write Post UTME Exams?

No. LASU typically uses an Online Screening Method.

  1. Registration: You register on the portal (services.lidc.lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening) and upload your credentials.

  2. Grading: The system automatically calculates your aggregate based on your JAMB and O’Level results.

  3. LACACA: This is the Lagos State University Central Admissions Clearance App. If you are admitted, you must go through a rigorous online clearance (LACACA) where your documents are scanned and verified. If your documents are fake or inconsistent, you will be disqualified even after admission.

Important Admission Tips

  1. O’Level is King: Since there is no exam, your O’Level result contributes 50% of your screening score. Having A1s in your WAEC/NECO gives you a massive advantage over someone with C6s.

  2. Indigene Verification: If you are a Lagos State Indigene, you must participate in the IIVC (Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee) screening. Successful verification gives you a lower cut-off and higher admission priority.

  3. Campus Awareness:

    • Ojo: Main Campus (Sciences, Arts, Social Sciences, Law, Management).

    • Epe: Engineering and Agriculture.

    • Ikeja: College of Medicine.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions concerning the LACACA portal, Stream 2 fees, or the specific requirements for Lagos Indigenes, as our support team is always on standby to attend to you.
