Official Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (Formerly Nok University) Admission Guide 2026/2027

If you are searching for Nok University, Kachia, for the 2026/2027 academic session, you need to be aware of a massive development: The university has been converted.

Following a Federal Government takeover in early 2025, the institution formerly known as Nok University has been upgraded and renamed the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK). This means if you are applying for 2026/2027, you are no longer applying to a private university with high fees, but to a Federal University with significantly lower tuition.

This guide provides the official cut-off marks for FUASK, the fee reality under the new management, and the admission requirements.

FUASK (Formerly Nok University) Cut Off Mark 2026/2027

This transition is the best news for applicants. You get the state-of-the-art facilities built for a private university (Nok) but pay the subsidised fees of a federal institution. The university is located in Kachia, Southern Kaduna, and focuses heavily on applied sciences and health technology.

JAMB Cut Off Mark for All Courses

The school management has officially set the institutional JAMB cut-off mark for the 2026/2027 academic session at 180.

Important Reality Check:

  • The Shift from 140 to 180: As a private university (Nok), the cut-off might have been lower. Now that it is a Federal University, the standard has been raised to 180. You must score 180 or above to be eligible for the Post-UTME screening.

  • Competition: Because the fees have dropped, the number of applicants has skyrocketed. A score of 180 makes you eligible, but for competitive courses like Medicine and Nursing, you need much higher scores to stand a chance on the merit list.

Departmental Admission Targets

Admission into FUASK is strictly based on merit. Below are the Safe JAMB Scores you should aim for, based on the new federal standards.

College of Medical & Health Sciences

This is the most competitive college. Admission is strictly by quota.

S/N PROGRAMMES OFFICIAL CUT-OFF SAFE TARGET SCORE
1 Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) 240 250+
2 Doctor of Pharmacy 220 230+
3 Nursing Science (B.NSc) 210 220 – 230+
4 Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) 200 210+
5 Radiography 180 200+
6 Health Information Management 180 180+

Note for Medicine/Nursing:

Do not rely on the minimum cut-off. For Medicine and Nursing, the competition is fierce. Ensure you have your O-Level credits (English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in One Sitting.

  • Health Sciences (Nursing/MLS): ~₦150,000 – ₦200,000.

  • Medicine & Surgery: ~₦200,000 – ₦250,000.

Note: These figures are estimates based on typical federal university charges in the North-West zone. The official schedule will be released on the portal (fuask.edu.ng).
