BUK Post UTME Form 2026/2027 | Application Portal, Eligibility & Deadline
Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Post UTME Form 2026/2027: Being an education consultant who has helped many students through the gates of the “Great BUK,” I know Bayero University, Kano, to be one of the most organized and competitive universities in Nigeria. To ensure your admission into the university during the 2026/2027 academic session, you must realize that BUK considers both your performance and the accuracy of the information provided during the online screening.
What is BUK Post-UTME?
The Post-UTME (Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) at BUK is a mandatory screening exercise for all candidates who chose the university in JAMB.
NOTE: BUK relies on the above process to screen your O-Level results as well as determine the aggregate. Sometimes, BUK writes the Aptitude Test (CBT), while others rely on 100% online screening of results. Skipping this means you have voluntarily waived your admission.

Screening Format (CBT or Online?)
BUK’s format can change, but it typically follows one of two paths:
-
Aptitude Test (CBT): Candidates sit for an exam on campus covering English, General Paper, and subjects related to their field.
-
Online Screening: Candidates are scored based on their JAMB results and O-Level grades (points system)
Required Documents for Registration
Have these digital copies ready (usually under 100kb):
-
JAMB Original Result Slip.
-
O-Level Result(s) (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
-
A clear passport photograph.
-
Scanned signature (if required by the portal).
-
DE candidates: A-Level statement of results/certificate.
Step-by-Step Registration Guide
The registration is done on the BUK Portal:
- Login: It is done using your JAMB Registration No and UTME Score (DE No).
- Update Profile: Add your date of birth, phone number, and email.
- Create Invoice: Print your Personalized Payment Invoice (PPI).
- Payment: Payment of the screening fee is done by paying ₦2,000 through Remita at any bank and with your ATM card online.
- Result Upload: Go back to the portal and enter your O-Level result scores. This is very crucial and might result in disqualification if wrongly done.
- Final Submission: Please Print Your Acknowledgment/Examination
Calculation of Aggregate Score
BUK often uses a weighted average to determine the final list. A common formula used is: If the screening is strictly online, with no test, they use a Points System for your O-Level grades: A1 = 10pts, B2 = 9pts, etc. The higher your grades and JAMB score, the safer your admission.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Incorrect Phone/E-Mail: If you have been using a “cafe man’s” telephone number, you could miss important notifications regarding your screening appointment.
- BUK requires you to upload your results to the CAPS portal.10 BUK will not recommend you for admission if you do not upload your results to CAPS.
- Uploading Blurry Documents: Blurry documents mean that the officer cannot see the grades and will automatically move to the next applicant.
Expert Admission Tips
- The “Early Bird” Rule: Register in the first week. This will give you an opportunity to resolve technical problems or “invalid JAMB number errors.”
- Catchment Area: It gives preference to applicants from the areas of their catchment state, which includes Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, and so on. If you are outside these states, then you must perform extremely better than the cut-off to be considered.
- Verify Matriculation List: Verify that your name is in the JAMB Matriculation List to ensure that you have a valid JAMB registration.
