How Much is the JAMB Form 2026?

The price structure includes the registration fee, the compulsory reading text, and the CBT centre service charge. You are paying for everything at once (Cashless Policy), so you do not pay cash at the CBT centre.

  • UTME Registration (Without Mock): ₦7,200

  • UTME Registration (With Mock): ₦8,700

  • Direct Entry (DE) Registration: ₦5,700

Breakdown of the ₦7,200 Fee:

  • JAMB Application Fee: ₦3,500

  • Reading Text (The Novel): ₦1,000

  • CBT Centre Registration Charge: ₦700

  • CBT Centre Service Charge: ₦1,500

  • Bank Charges: ₦500

3 Critical Requirements Before You Buy

Before you rush to the bank, ensure you have these three things ready. Without them, you cannot register.

1. National Identification Number (NIN)

This is mandatory. No NIN, no JAMB. Ensure your NIN data (Name, Date of Birth) is exactly what you want to appear on your JAMB profile. JAMB will pull your information directly from the NIMC database.

  • Note: If you are not yet 16 years old by September 30, 2026, you may face restrictions. Ensure you meet the age requirement.

2. Profile Code Generation

You cannot buy the form without a Profile Code.

  • How to Generate: Send an SMS with the format NIN 00123456789 (your 11-digit NIN) to 55019 or 66019.

  • Make sure there is a space between the word “NIN” and your number.

  • You will receive a 10-character Profile Code (e.g., 3928472910).

3. A Valid Phone Number & Email

Use a phone number you have access to. Do not use your dad’s or a cyber café’s number. All admission updates, including your result, will be sent to this SIM.

Step-by-Step Registration Guide

Step 1: Get Your Profile Code

As explained above, send your NIN to 55019. Ensure you have at least ₦50 airtime on your phone.

Step 2: Buy the e-PIN

Visit any participating bank (Zenith, First Bank, UBA, etc.), NIPOST, or use mobile money operators (Quickteller, Remita, Paga). Present your Profile Code and pay the fee (₦7,200 or ₦8,700). You will receive a pin.

Step 3: Visit an Accredited CBT Centre

Go to a JAMB-accredited CBT centre with your e-PIN, Profile Code, and O’Level results (if available).

  • Biometrics: Your ten fingers will be captured. This is the most crucial part. Ensure your biometric verification is successful.

  • Choice of Institution: You will choose your 1st Choice (University), 2nd Choice, 3rd Choice, and 4th Choice institutions.

Step 4: Collect Your Slip

After registration, the CBT centre will print your registration slip. This slip contains your registration number and chosen courses. Keep it safe!

3 Mistakes That Will Disqualify You

  1. Double Registration: Do not register twice. If you make a mistake, you can apply for a data correction later. Double registration leads to an automatic ban.

  2. Wrong Subject Combination: This is the #1 reason students fail to get admission, even with high scores. Check the JAMB Brochure to ensure your four subjects match your desired course.

  3. Using a Proxy: You must be physically present to register and have your biometrics captured. No one can register for you.

Final Advice

The portal is now open, and the rush has started. My advice? Register within the first two weeks. The servers tend to become congested towards the deadline (February 28), and JAMB has stated that there will be no extension.

Start studying your past questions and the reading text immediately. Good luck!
