Important Admission Secrets for 2026/2027

To secure admission into Poly Ibadan, you need to understand the strategy:

1. The Cut-Off Mark Strategy

  • Official Mark: The school generally sets a JAMB cut-off of 150.

  • The “Hot” Courses: Do not rely on 150 if you want Mass Comm, Nursing (Not offered here, see FAQ), SLT, or Accounting. These departments are flooded with applicants. You typically need a strong Post-UTME score to beat the competition.

2. The Daily Part-Time (DPP) Advantage

  • Missed the List? If your name doesn’t come out on the Merit list, immediately buy the DPP Form.

  • The Experience: DPP is excellent at Poly Ibadan. You wear the same ID card, attend classes on weekdays, and graduate with the same National Diploma. The only difference is the admission method (no JAMB stress) and slightly higher school fees.

3. O-Level Requirements

  • Maths & English: A Credit in Mathematics and English Language is non-negotiable for 95% of courses (including Business Admin).

  • Two Sittings: The school accepts a combination of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB results.
