Important Admission Secrets for 2026/2027

To secure admission into LASU, you need to understand the “Lagos Factor”:

1. The “Indigene” Verification (IIVC)

  • LASU is owned by the Lagos State Government.

  • Lagos Indigenes: You get a MASSIVE advantage. There is a verified quota for indigenes. You must pass the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) screening to claim this slot.

  • Non-Indigenes: You are welcome, but the competition is fierce. You need to score very high to enter the Merit list.

2. The “Point-Based” Screening

  • LASU usually does not write a physical Post-UTME exam. They use a Point Grading System.

  • The Formula: They calculate your JAMB Score + O’Level Grades.

  • Implication: If you have Cs in your WAEC/NECO, your aggregate will drop significantly, even if you scored 250 in JAMB. You need A’s and B’s.

3. No “Awaiting Result”

  • LASU is very strict. During the online screening registration, you must usually upload your O’Level result. If your result is not ready by the time the portal closes, you are automatically disqualified.
