Important Admission Requirements for 2026/2027

Knowing the courses is just step one. To secure admission into FUGASHUA, you need to meet the specific entry requirements. The university is known for being strict with its admission guidelines.

1. JAMB Cut-Off Mark

For the 2026/2027 session, the general JAMB cut-off mark for FUGASHUA is expected to remain around 140. However, competitive courses have higher requirements:

• Biochemistry, Computer Science, Microbiology: You should aim for 170+.

• Biology: Aim for 160+.

• Other Courses: 140 is usually sufficient.

2. O-Level Requirements

You must have at least 5 Credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in not more than two sittings.

• Compulsory Subjects: English Language and Mathematics are mandatory for all courses.

• Science Students: Must have credits in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Does FUGASHUA offer Nursing or Medicine? No. As of the 2026/2027 academic session, Federal University Gashua does not have a College of Medical Sciences. You cannot study Nursing, Medicine, or Pharmacy there yet.

Does FUGASHUA offer Law? No. The Faculty of Law has not yet been established.

Is FUGASHUA a competitive school? While it is not as crowded as schools in Lagos or Abuja, admission into courses like Computer Science and Accounting is becoming increasingly competitive. It is wise to score well above the minimum cut-off.
