UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026: The University of Benin invites applications from appropriately qualified candidates for its several postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2025/2026. They offer Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s degrees, Master of Philosophy degrees, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission Requirement

To obtain the UNIBEN School of Postgraduate Studies application form, you must meet specific requirements:

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
– Candidates must have passed English and Mathematics at the O’ level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) to satisfy matriculation requirements.
– Graduates must hold at least a third-class honors degree from the University of Benin or any other recognized university.
– Individuals with a Higher National Diploma (HND) and at least a Lower Credit grade from recognized institutions are eligible.
– Holders of any other qualifications, along with relevant field experience that is deemed acceptable by the University, may also apply.

2. Master’s Degree
– Candidates must have credits in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level (e.g., WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
– UNIBEN graduates must have an approved first degree with a second class honors (lower division) or a degree with a CGPA of 3.00 or higher, or a CGPA between 2.40 and 2.99 accompanied by at least three years of post-graduation experience.
– Candidates who obtained a third-class honors degree and have at least five years of relevant post-graduation experience are eligible to apply.
– Applicants must possess a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Benin or any recognized institution with at least a pass at the credit level.
– Candidates with unclassified degrees but an average grade of C or above are also eligible to apply.
– Candidates must have a Higher National Diploma (minimum credit) from recognized institutions and a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum pass at credit level) from the University of Benin in relevant areas.

3. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Master’s by Research Degrees
– Graduates must have obtained an approved first degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the University of Benin or other recognized institutions.
– A Second Class Honours degree accompanied by substantial relevant industrial experience is required.

4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
– Graduates must hold a Master’s Degree relevant to their proposed areas of study from the University of Benin.
– Graduates from other recognized universities are eligible if they hold a Master’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
– Candidates for the Ph.D. programs may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/or undergo a probationary period not exceeding 12 calendar months.

How to Apply for UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026

1. Visit www.uniben.edu or waeup.uniben.edu.
2. On the UNIBEN.EDU website, select “Student Portal” and then select the “UNIBEN WAEUP Portal.” Candidates should have a legitimate email address before starting the application process (please note: do not use a cybercafé’s email).
3. Click on “Postgraduate Programmes Applications 2025/2026” to view all available programmes.
4. To proceed, click on the “Register” button at the top left side of the page.
5. Enter all information requested. Note that fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
6. Shortly, the email of confirmation will be sent to the provided email address.
7. Pick up your system-generated ID and password to sign in via email.
8. Click on ‘Login’ on waeup.uniben.edu (top right front page).
9. Use your password and username in the email to sign in.
10. To initiate the application process, tap ‘Edit Application Record,’ enter all the required information, and attach your passport photo.
11. Attach a good-quality, colored 1″ x 1″ passport photograph with red background, in JPEG format only. The uploaded photo will be the sole valid identification for accepted candidates during their stay in the University of Benin. Disqualification and cancellation of admission shall result if the required passport photograph is not uploaded.
12. Click on the “Add Online Payment Ticket” at the bottom of the page to make payment for the application. Then click on “Pay with Remita” at the top left of the page. Follow the instructions provided to make the payment with an ATM-enabled Verve or MasterCard from a commercial bank.
13. Verify and double-check your information before you submit your application online.
14. Once you submit your application, you cannot edit anything.
15. Print out this application slip.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview for final selection into the programme.
