FUAM Postgraduate Admission Requirement

To obtain the application form for the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM) School of Postgraduate Studies, candidates must fulfill specific requirements:

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
– Candidates must pass English and Mathematics at the O’ level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) to meet matriculation requirements.
– Graduates must have at least a third-class honors degree from the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi or any other recognized university.
– Individuals who hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit grade from recognized institutions are eligible.
– Holders of any other qualifications, along with relevant field experience deemed acceptable by the University, are also eligible.

2. Master’s Degree
– Candidates must have credits in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level (e.g., WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
– FUAM graduates with an approved first degree and a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree are eligible, provided they have a CGPA of 3.00 or higher, or a CGPA between 2.40 and 2.99 along with three years of post-graduation experience.
– Candidates who hold a Third Class honors degree and have at least five years of post-graduation experience may also apply.
– Applicants must possess a Postgraduate Diploma from the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi or any recognized institution with at least a pass at the credit level.
– Candidates with unclassified degrees but with an average grade of C or above are eligible to apply.
– Candidates with a Higher National Diploma (minimum credit) from recognized institutions and a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum pass at credit level) from the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi in relevant areas may also apply.

3. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Master’s by Research Degrees
– Graduates must have an approved first degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, or other recognized institutions.
– A Second Class Honours degree with substantial relevant industrial experience is required.

4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
– Graduates who have obtained a Master’s Degree relevant to their proposed areas of study from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi are eligible to apply.
– Graduates from other recognized universities must hold a Master’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
– Candidates for the Ph.D. programs may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/or undergo a probationary period not exceeding 12 calendar months.

How to Apply for FUAM Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026

Applications are now open. Interested candidates should visit the University’s website at www.fuam.edu.ng for detailed information on the application procedures and the general and specific requirements for all programs. A non-refundable application processing fee of twenty thousand, five hundred Naira (N20,500.00) must be paid at any commercial bank nationwide using Remita or a debit card (Mastercard or Verve).

Candidates are required to print and submit two (2) copies of the completed application forms to the Secretary of the Postgraduate School. Please ensure that all relevant credentials are attached. Submissions can be made through hand delivery or courier services.

Additionally, candidates must arrange for their academic transcripts to be sent directly to the Secretary of the Postgraduate School.
